
My story and yin yoga journey
Being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome then post traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety in 2006 left me unable to function. I had a complete power failure, everything shut down. From someone who was always go-go-go, ran the London Marathon and had a full and vibrant life, I felt like me and my whole world had completely fallen apart!
I couldn’t accept the doctors opinion that I’d never get better and I’d be stuck like that for the rest of my life; I was determined to get my health and my life back! So that led me down the holistic route, and a whole lot of self development and inner work and somehow along the way stepped into my role as a yoga teacher and wellness guide centred around yin yoga after quitting the corporate world after a thirty year banking career.
I discovered real happiness, joy and purpose in sharing this miraculous and deeply transforming practice with others.
This powerful yet very turbulent journey has so far involved over nine hundred hours of Yoga Alliance teacher training, including advanced yin yoga teacher training courses and yoga for trauma recovery. Yin yoga was the completing piece of the jigsaw for me.
My intensive studies have included hatha, ashtanga, vinyasa, yin, yin yang and aerial yoga, restorative yoga, goddess vinyasa flow, chakra yin flow, yoga nidra and sound healing and reiki.
Yin is where my healing finds its natural flow. While I was being treated for complex PTSD some years ago, I developed a fascination with how the human brain works and the connection between the mind and body.
What my consultant shared with me was incredible, and I needed to know more.
This drive to understand more led me into gaining my PhD in Metaphysical Science.
The fact that I had gone from being unable to function, sleeping for twenty three hours a day, plagued by brain fog and a memory worse than a goldfish to completing a PhD, was beyond belief!
I never imagined I’d be able to use my brain, and heal my body and mind, to the extent that I have.
The intensity and depth of my yoga training and academic studying and the way in which they come together in my sessions has created my unique style of teaching yin yoga. I share what’s worked for me, from my own personal experience.
Postures, nurture and calm are combined with the brain science behind the practice and meticulous preparation, bringing wisdom and learning from many different sources into each session.

Counselling on stress management and how to mitigate against the devastating long-term effects it can have is woven into my teaching.
I bring healing stillness into people’s lives in order for them to better manage their challenges and find – and enjoy – the balance that is so often missing. And on top of that, through my classes and retreats I provide a safe and welcoming environment to make new friends who share common struggles, yet have a strong desire to transform their quality of life. We all support each other, we’re all connected.
I’m primarily a senior yoga teacher specialising in yin yoga and my PhD is in Metaphysics, I’m not a medical doctor and I don’t claim to cure anything, however I know what I teach works due to my own personal journey and feedback from my loyal and dedicated students. A certified holistic life coach and spiritual counsellor, organiser & leader of worldwide yoga and wellness retreats, I’ve taken my groups to Chiang Mai, Thailand, Santorini, Greece, Ibiza, Spain, Goa, India and Costa Rica and Ischia, Italy; 13 international retreats to January 2026, with many more to come!
